DAGMAR BLOMMAERT

Founder, Game Director, Narrative Designer

An adventurer who loves to travel the world in search of stories. After writing for Marie’s Room she started like Charlie with Kenny. She’s the lead writer and narrative designer for Ghost on the Shore. And she’s writing with her colleagues at Fishing Cactus for Nanotale.

After graduating from DAE - Digital Arts & Entertainment, and an internship at Triangle Factory, Kenny started as a 3D artist at die Keure. His hobby project Marie’s Room matured into a successfully launched game and voilà, like Charlie was born.

Programmer, Sound Designer

Dries studied New Media And Communication Technologies and became a Lead Programmer at die Keure before joining like Charlie. He was also a pianist at Kursaal Oostende and founded the band The Nealions.

Eline graduated in Japanology and decided to follow her other passion and study video game graphic design at DAE. After her internship with us, she joined the ranks of like Charlie.

A 10-year industry veteran. Steven started as a game designer and programmer at Endrone and continued as a project manager at die Keure. Steven also founded Simoose, which offers professional video game project management for small studios.

Alex started as an engine developer at Larian Studios for the Divinity II series. He has worked at Newfort and die Keure as lead developer. Alex now teaches and coordinates the Game Development major in DAE - HOWEST University of Applied Sciences.

About like Charlie

like Charlie is a narrative-focused game studio in Bruges, Belgium. Founded by Dagmar Blommaert & Kenny Guillaume, creators of an award-winning story exploration game Marie's Room

Kenny and Dagmar met at a printing and publishing house where they worked together on a Flemish adventure game for children. Their collaboration felt so natural, they decided daytime hours weren't enough: they would take on a side project: Marie's Room.

About 18 months later the successful release of the game exceeded all expectations: over 200.000 downloads and 4500 positive reviews on Steam. Kenny and Dagmar wanted to continue telling emotional stories through video games. What else was there to do but start their own game studio and make another game? Soon we became a strong team of seven enthusiasts, ready to take on the world of narrative-driven games.
